Will PowerSense fit on my bike?
There’s a very easy way to find out if PowerSense is compatible with your bike. You’ll need a 10mm clearance between the non-drive side crank and the chainstay. You can get away with a bit less, but this is what we recommend.
Will PowerSense work with my head unit?
PowerSense communicates with all head units over ANT+. So, if your head unit operates on this platform, then yes.
Most Garmins and other head units use this communication platform but check the head unit box for a manual or website of your head unit’s manufacturer and you’ll be able to check it out.
How long does fitting take?
Depends on how you’re going to get the PowerSense fitted.
Self-fitting/Dealership fitting – You’re looking at roughly a 24-hour turnaround, this gives the glue a real chance to set. If you need help fitting your PowerSense yourself, watch our YouTube video
Factory Fit Service – 5 Days (approx) For example, you send it to us Monday, we’ll receive it Tuesday. We’ll do all the work needed, send it back by Thursday to receive on Friday. Ready for you to cycle at the weekend!
Is there any general maintenance I need to do?
There are a couple of things you can do to ensure PowerSense works at its full potential.
We recommend you zero-offset before every ride, and calibrating once a week would be beneficial. Regarding cleaning – PowerSense is pretty tough, but try not to catch it with a jet-wash! (Not that you should be jet washing your bike anyway as it’ll blow the grease from the bearings).
Where can I buy PowerSense?
How do I fit PowerSense on my bike?
There are a few ways for you to get PowerSense onto your bike:
1) You can buy a pre-fitted crank.
2) You can take your crank to your Authorised Dealer (see your nearest here) and they’ll fit it for you.
3) Send your crank to us, and we’ll fit it for you.
4) Fit it to your crank yourself.
Can I swap it in between my bikes?
Short answer, no. You can however change the crank between bikes if you wish.
As the sensor is glued on with super-strength glue, you’ll break the unit if you attempt to pull it off. PowerSense has been created so that you don’t have to change it between bikes, and priced so that you can allow all your machines the power to generate data.
Why is it so affordable?
Historically, power has always been expensive. We’ve flipped that around and designed a high-end, affordable power meter which has been manufactured here in Oxford, England especially for those who deserve affordable power; everyone!
